Africans, The Spear. Tell ?Them? This (Poetry for change) | Feint and ...

Some have it that,

If you want to hide anything from the African,

It should be the book.

Tell them!

Tell them that the barbarian has come home

Tell them!

Tell them the Masai has put down his spear

Tell them!

Tell them our gods did not sought refuge from Olympus

Tell them!

Tell them Obama has won the people?s plight

Tell them!

Tell them he?s of an African origin and change has come

Ooh! Tell them

Tell them of Granville Woods, Percy Julian, George Washington Carver,

Martin Luther King, Malcolm X

Shout it loud and tell them

Tell them the wind has heard the ancestral cries of Nkrumah,

Lumumba, Cabral, Sumanguru, Sundiata, Mansa Musa,

Tell them

Tell them that Mandela has paid homage with the torch of Independence

Tell them and sing it clear

Ooh! Tell them

Tell them the sun has not set over our bravery

Tell them

Tell them our stories, our history

Tell them

Tell them of Akhenaton and Nefertiti, Askia the Great,

Ahmadou Bamba, Almamy Suluku, Steve Biko, Muhammed Bello,

Ooh! Tell them

Tell them change was and tell them

Of Chaka the Zulu, Cheikh Anta Diop, the Queen of Sheiba,

King Mutato, Thomas Sankara

Tell them

Tell them of our myth and age

Tell them of the Queen mother of Ejisu

Obaahemaa Yaa Asantewaa, Okomfo Anokye

and the mystic golden stool of the Ashanti Kingdom

Tell them

Scare not their eyes but tell them this,

?I am a strong character

a mother of great intellect

who birthed a slave that defeated Napoleon?,

Tell them

Tell them of Africa

that we speak volumes of our rise of arts, entertainment,

media, language, sciences, humanities and the common sense

of culture

Tell them

Where are you?

Busumuru Kofi Anann, Ellen Johnson, Leymah Gbowee

Tell them of which land we belong

Tell them of our time

Tell them ?till we end this piece

For the moon and sun will never sleep

for us to be enslaved

Tell them loud (2x)

And sing it clear

Ooh! Tell them

Tell them about yourself

To defeat their conscience of this ridicule

Tell them, ?till there?s no more, ?them?.
