More heartbreaking news from a Baton Rouge family who are preparing to have funerals for five family members.
The Gaines family tells 9NEWS, 15-year-old Willie Gaines was taken off life support Sunday evening. His family decided to donate his organs. Younger brother, R.J. is recovering from his injuries. The boys were the only survivors of a suspected drunk driving crash this past Wednesday night. Their grandmother, Brenda Gaines, mother, Denise Gaines, 12-year-old sister, Diamond Johnson, and 6-year-old brother Jyran Johnson, all died at the scene. Another church member, Angela Mosley, was riding with the family and was also killed. They were on their way home from bible study, when police say Brett Gerald crossed the center line and crashed into them. Police say Gerald had been out celebrating his 30th birthday and had nearly twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system. ?.MORE
