Question by : What are the alternative routes to teaching certification?
I have a four year degree in environmental studies and am take into accounting a career in teaching. I am willing to go back to school nonetheless do not intend to to commit to anything more than a 2 year program. I was wondering if there were any other ways to get your teaching certificate or if their are any accelerated route programs in or around the northern NJ area or NE PA area. I am interested in teaching science.

You would have to have a number of education courses. Those are set by the state?s Department of Education, not the colleges. Make appointments with advisers in the Education departments of a couple of colleges close to where you live. The requirements will all be the same, pretty much. They can also recommend other colleges, believe it or not. It?s the time frame you?re interested in. Small colleges can unique offer specific required classes once a year or once a semester. Some might offer a few in the summer. Each state?s requirements might be just a bit different, consequently check with each state you?re take into accounting.
